used in a language.
व्याकरण नियमों का वह समूह है जो यह बताता है कि किसी भाषा
में शब्दों का प्रयोग कैसे (किस प्रकार) किया जाता है।

जब
हम बोलते या लिखते हैं तो हम शब्दों का प्रयोग करते हैं। हम आम तौर पर इन शब्दों
का इस्तेमाल समूहों में करते हैं। एक शब्द या शब्दों का एक समूह- जो पूरी तरह से
समझ में आता है- एक वाक्य कहा जाता है।
There are four kinds of sentences:-
Statements
वक्तव्य / Assertive
Sentence
Desires अभिलाषा / Imperative Sentence
Questions सवाल या प्रश्न/ Interrogative Sentence
Exclamations/ Exclamatory Sentence विष्मयादि बोधक
Statements: Those sentences
which simply affirm of deny something- are classed as Statements or Assertive Sentences. वे वाक्य जो केवल किसी बात को नकारने की पुष्टि करते हैं-
उन्हें कथन या दृढ़ वाक्य के रूप में वर्गीकृत किया जाता है।
Statements can be of two kinds:- कथन दो प्रकार के
हो सकते हैं:-
Affirmative
Statement (सकारात्मक कथन)& Negative
Statement(नकारात्मक कथन).
Your success depends chiefly on you. आपकी सफलता
मुख्य रूप से आप पर निर्भर करती है।

जाता है।

Questions : Those
sentences which inquire about something are
classed as Questions
: वे वाक्य जो किसी
चीज के बारे में पूछताछ करते हैं उन्हें प्रश्न के रूप में वर्गीकृत किया जाता है:
There are
five kinds of questions.
Closed question,
Open question,
Rhetorical question,
Inflection question,
Tag question.
Closed Question: The
question which can be answered in yes or no, is called a closed question. Such sentence begins with an auxiliary verb.
There
is inversion in it. The subject
comes after the verb. जिस प्रश्न का उत्तर हां या ना में दिया जा सकता है, उसे बंद
प्रश्न कहा जाता है। ऐसे वाक्य की शुरुआत सहायक क्रिया से होती है। इसमें उलटफेर
है। कर्ता क्रिया के बाद आता है।
Is the earth round? क्या
दुनियां गोल है?
Open
question: The
question which cannot be answered in yes or no, is called open question. Such sentence begins with an interrogative word, - as जिस प्रश्न का उत्तर हां या ना में नहीं दिया
जा सकता, उसे खुला प्रश्न कहा जाता है। इस तरह के वाक्य एक
प्रश्नवाचक शब्द से शुरू होते हैं, - जैसे
who कौन, which कौन, whom किसको what क्या, when कब, where कहा, why क्यौं how कैसे etc.
who are you? कौन, which is your bag? कौन, whom are yor searching for? किसको what क्या what is the matter?, when did you come? कब, where are
you coming from? कहा, why did you come here? क्यौं how कैसे etc.
Rhetorical question: The
question whose answer is included in the question itself is called a Rhetorical question.
जिस प्रश्न का उत्तर प्रश्न में ही समाहित हो, उसे अलंकारिक
प्रश्न कहते हैं।
Who is immortal?
अमर कौन है?
कौन अमर है?
Inflection question: The
question which seems to be an statement in structure but it is interrogative, in
pronunciation is called a Inflection question.
जो प्रश्न संरचना में कथन जैसा प्रतीत होता है परन्तु
उच्चारण में प्रश्नवाचक हो, विभक्ति प्रश्न कहलाता है।
You are coming. आप आ रहे हैं ?
Tag question: A tag question is a special construction in English. It is a statement followed by a
mini-question. We use tag questions to ask for confirmation. They mean
something like: "Is that right?" or "Do you agree?" They
are very common in English.
टैग प्रश्न अंग्रेजी में एक विशेष निर्माण है। यह एक कथन है जिसके बाद एक
मिनी-प्रश्न है। पुष्टि के लिए पूछने के लिए हम टैग प्रश्नों का उपयोग करते हैं।
उनका मतलब कुछ ऐसा है: "क्या यह सही है?" या "क्या आप सहमत हैं?" वे अंग्रेजी में बहुत आम हैं।
Will you not mind, will you? आप बुरा तो नहीं
मानेंगे ना?
You are going there are not you? आप वहां जा
रहे हैं ना ?
Exclamations: Those sentences which express some sudden feelings
of the mind such as pleasure, anger, or surprise about something which has been
said or done are classed as Exclamations
or Exclamatory Sentences. They usually begin with
How or what, and the verb is often omitted.
विस्मयादिबोधक या विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य वे वाक्य कहलाते हैं
जो मन के आकस्मिक भाव जैसे खुशी, क्रोध या किसी बात के बारे में आश्चर्य व्यक्त
करते हैं। वे आमतौर पर कैसे या क्या से शुरू होते हैं, और क्रिया को
अक्सर छोड़ दिया जाता है।
How wonderful! कितना
लाजवाब!
3.
Subject and Predicate:- A word or a combination of words- that makes complete sense- is called a Sentence. The sense is not complete unless something
is said about something else. Thus a Sentence can be divided in two parts. 3. कर्ता और
विधेय:- जिस शब्द या शब्दों के योग से पूर्ण बोध होता है, उसे वाक्य कहते हैं। अर्थ तब तक पूरा नहीं होता जब तक कि किसी और के बारे में
कुछ न कहा जाए। इस प्रकार एक वाक्य को दो भागों में विभाजित किया जा सकता है। They are Subject and Predicate. वे विषय और विधेय
हैं।
Subject: The word or
words denoting the person or thing- about which something is said are called
the Subject of the sentence. – कर्ता (Subject) : जिस शब्द या शब्द
से किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु का बोध होता है, जिसके बारे में
कुछ कहा जाता है, उसे कर्ता कहते हैं। -
River flows. नदी बहती है।
“River” is the subject
of the sentence, because something has been said about “River”. "नदी" वाक्य का विषय है, क्योंकि "नदी"
के बारे में कुछ कहा गया है।
Predicate: (विधेय) :- A word or words which say
something about the subject, as “flows” are
called the Predicate
of the sentence. जिन शब्दों या शब्दों से विषय के बारे में कुछ कहा जाता है, उन्हें " विधेय " कहा जाता है।
Here flows is the Predicate of the sentence, because flows is the which say something about
the Subject. यहाँ प्रवाह
वाक्य का विधेय है, क्योंकि प्रवाह वह है जो विषय के बारे में कुछ कहता है।
Hence no sentence
can be made without a subject and a predicate. These two things are necessary
to make a complete sense. इसलिए कोई भी वाक्य बिना विषय और विधेय के नहीं
बनाया जा सकता है। पूर्ण अर्थ निकालने के लिए ये दोनों बातें आवश्यक हैं।
In other words, when we make
a sentence, we must have a subject to speak about and we must predicate
something about that subject. दूसरे शब्दों में, जब हम एक वाक्य
बनाते हैं, तो हमारे पास बोलने के लिए एक विषय होना चाहिए और हमें उस
विषय के बारे में कुछ बताना चाहिए।
The Subject of a sentence usually comes first and is followed by the
Predicate but occasionally the subject is put after the predicate; as, एक वाक्य का
कर्ता आमतौर पर पहले आता है और उसके बाद विधेय आता है लेकिन कभी-कभी कर्ता विधेय
के बाद रखा जाता है; जैसा,
Down went the Mughal Dynasty . मुगल सल्तनत
का पतन हो गया।
Sweet are uses of adversity. प्रतिकूलता
का उपयोग मीठा होता है।
In imperative Sentences the Subject is left
out. It is understood; as’
Thank you. मैं आपको
धन्यवाद देता हूं। (Here the subject I is understood.)
Sit down. तुम बैठ
जाओ। (Here the subject you
is understood.)
In Exclamatory Sentences the Subject and part of the Predicate are understood:-
Shocking. (= It is shocking.) (= यह
चौंकाने वाला है।)
Well done. (=That was well done)
बहुत बढ़िया। (= यह अच्छी तरह से किया गया था)
No more of that. (=Let us have no more of that.)
उससे अधिक नहीं। (= हमें और अधिक नहीं चाहिए।)
4. A
Phrase: A combination of words that
makes sense, but not complete sense is called a Phrase.
मुहावरा (Phrase) :- ऐसे शब्दों के
योग से जिसका अर्थ तो निकलता है, लेकिन पूरा अर्थ नहीं निकलता, पदबंध कहलाता है।
On the river
(नदी में),
A birds in the hand
(हाथ में एक चिडि़यां), Throw thick
and thin ( हर हाल में), – are
phrases. आदि
फ्रेज़ हैं।
5. A
Clause:
A group of words, which forms part of a sentence, and contain a subject and a
predicate, is called a clause. A sentence which is part of a larger sentence
is called a Clause.
5. उपवाक्य: शब्दों का वह समूह, जो एक वाक्य का
भाग बनता है और जिसमें एक विषय और एक विधेय होता है, उपवाक्य कहलाता
है। जो वाक्य बड़े वाक्य का भाग होता है उसे उपवाक्य कहते हैं।
This is the man, who helped me . यही वह आदमी
है जिसने मेरी मदद की।
Here, who helped me, is a sentence because it has a subject who
and a predicate helped
me.
यहाँ, जिसने मेरी मदद की, एक वाक्य है
क्योंकि इसमें एक विषय है जिसने मेरी मदद की और एक विधेय ने मेरी मदद की।
Similarly, ‘this is the man’ is also a
sentence having this for its subject and ‘is the man’ for its predicate. But both are the parts of a larger sentence. And hence each of them is called a clause. इसी प्रकार, 'दिस इज द मैन' भी एक वाक्य है
जिसमें यह अपने विषय के लिए है और 'इस मैन' इसके विधेय के
लिए है। लेकिन दोनों एक बड़े वाक्य के हिस्से हैं। और इसलिए उनमें से प्रत्येक को
एक उपवाक्य कहा जाता है।
Forms of Subject:
The Subject
to a sentence must be either a noun or a noun-equivalent. The principal forms in which a
subject can be expressed are as follows: -
किसी वाक्य का
विषय या तो संज्ञा या संज्ञा-समतुल्य होना चाहिए। किसी विषय को जिन मुख्य रूपों
में अभिव्यक्त किया जा सकता है वे इस प्रकार हैं:-
1, Ram was a king. राम एक राजा थे: : Noun
2. He killed Ravan. उसने रावण को मार डाला: Pronoun
3. To err is human: गलती करना मानव स्वभाव है: Infinitive
4. Sleeping is necessary to
health. नींद स्वास्थ्य के लिए आवश्यक
है: Gerund
5. How to do this puzzles me: इसे कैसे करना है, मुझको परेशान
करती है: Phrase
6. Whoever was caught was sent to
jail. जो भी पकड़ा गया उसे जेल भेज दिया गया। Clause
Predicate: A predicate must contain a finite verb.
Finite
Verb: Any part of
a verb that can be used as the Predicate
of a Sentence is called Finite Verb. The word “Finite” means limited. A
finite verb is so called, because it agrees with the Person and the Number of its Subject.
I am going. मैं जा रहा हूँ।
He is going. वह जा रहा है।
You are going. तुम जा रहे हो।
In these sentences, “ am
going”,“is
going” and “are
going” are the finite verbs of their corresponding subjects- I, he and you.
I am going home. मैं घर जा
रहा हूँ।
In the sentence “I am
going home”, “am going home” is the Predicate of the sentence; “ am going “ is the Finite Verb; “am” is the Auxiliary Verb; and “going” is the Principal Verb.
Principal
Verb and Auxiliary Verb: There are
only two kinds of verbs- action denoting verbs are called Main Verb (Principal Verb) amd time and mood
denoting verbs are called Helping Verb(Auxiliary Verb).
A sentence can have both, Main
Verb (Principal
Verb) and Helping Verb (Auxiliary Verb).
Main
Verb or Principal Verb: A verb which has a major meaning in the sentence in
terms of action is called the Main Verb or Principal Verb, while Helping Verb or Auxiliary Verb has little meaning if it is alone, but it adds time
information about the action if used with Main Verb to specify tense or time or mood of the action denoted by the Main Verb or Principal Verb.
